I visited a slave museum today.
One of the exhibits on music explained how during the 70's and 80's, some of the songs anti-apartheid activists sang were American gospel and protest songs. How ironic, i thought, that South African Blacks who successfully threw off the yoke of white political oppression, took inspiration from African Americans,, who still have not yet achieved political equality with Whites.
In the mid nineteenth century in America, there were 10 million slaves. In South Africa, there were never more than 100,000. America has one slave museum in Virgina. Why doesn't every state in America have a slave museum?
Because their President lives in The Whitey House.
